Torrential rains mistreated the upper part of Saturday, causing infrastructure damage and claiming the life of a child.

The strong downpour hit the areas of Kohistan at the top of the board, including Jahaz Banda, Lamoti, Badgoi and Jandri, causing sudden floods in streams and the Kohistan River.

The intense rain swept at least three key bridges in Jahaz Banda, Lamoti, Jandri and nearby areas, cutting the roads of the road and isolating local communities.

The residents resorted to road repairs over a self -help in the midst of destruction.

Several houses, fertile farmland and link paths were dragged into floods. Kumrat Road was also flooded at several points, leaving dozens of stranded tourists. Long lines of vehicles were seen along damaged sections of the route.

Floods entered Patraak Bazaar, flooding stores and houses, causing substantial losses to both residents and merchants. Multiple hydroelectric units were also swept, which resulted in power cuts in several areas. Crops and fruit orchards were severely affected by the cloud.

The commissioner of Dir Bala, Muhammad Fayaz, together with the Local Police arrived in the affected areas and launched relief and recovery operations.

In statements to the media, he said that the temporary restoration of roads and bridges will be guaranteed as soon as possible to facilitate movement and help.

It is pertinent to mention that the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) issued an advice warning based on the impact of an intense heat wave from June 18 to 22, urging the public to take precautionary measures to minimize health risks.

The heat wave is expected to severely affect southern Punjab, Sindh, East Baluchistan and southern Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, according to the advice issued by the National Emergency Operation Center of NDMA (NEOC) on Wednesday.

“It is likely that high pressure systems in the upper atmosphere persist, which leads to extreme temperatures, particularly in Jacobabad, Dadu, Larkana, Sukkur, Khairpur and Nawabshah,” the notice said. It is forecast that daytime temperatures will rise between 46 ° C and 48 ° C.

In Punjab, it is likely that Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Dera Ghazi Khan and Rajanpur be beaten strongly, while Sibi, Nasirabad, Dera Murad Jamali and Jaffarabad in Baluchistan and Tank, Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan in KP will also experience extreme heat.

The public has been advised to avoid unnecessary outdoor activities, especially between 11 am and 4 PM, wear light and adjusted clothes, and remain hydrated.

“Do not leave children or the elderly disregarded in parked vehicles,” added the notice, emphasizing the importance of verifying vulnerable people.

The NDMA is monitoring the situation closely and is coordinating with the relevant provincial and local authorities. Citizens have encouraged updates of the Department of Meteorology of Pakistan (PMD), NDMA and local disaster management authorities.

Any emergency should be informed to local line lines or control rooms of the provincial disaster management authority.
