Only the state can announce Jihad: DG ISPR


Army spokesman, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, said only the State is authorized to announce Jihad against an aggressor and not any individual or group.

Lieutenant General Chaudhry, who has been on an official visit to Karachi, expressed these points of view on Sunday during his meetings with people from different areas of life.

According to the Director General of Public Relations Interservices (ISPR), Pakistani citizens belonging to different religions enjoy equal rights under the Constitution. He said the unit could only ensure through peace and equality.

“Divisions based on the breed or language are condemnable. All citizens of Pakistan are equal. No one can defeat us, if we join,” he added.

The military spokesman was talking to the recent conflict between Pakistan and India.

The two neighboring nations last month involved in a brief but dangerous confrontation, weeks after a militant attack in the Pahalgam area of ​​the Kashmir occupied by India.

During the four days of active conflict initiated by India, both countries launched missile attacks in the territory of the other while carrying out unmanned planes and cyber attacks. The conflict reached a final abrupt after the president of the United States, Donald Trump, announced a high fire, apparently at the request of New Delhi.

The DG ISPR declared that India supports terrorist groups in Pakistan and that Pakistan’s army is responding to this threat using a modern war strategy.

Pakistan has been accusing India of promoting terrorism in her soil, particularly in Baluchistan, who has faced a low key insurgency during the last two decades.

During his visit, the ISPR head received a warm welcome in the country’s economic center.
