
The US forces have hit Iran’s key nuclear sites, attracting Tehran threats to retaliate, with US military facilities in the region a potential objective.
The following are significant US facilities in the Middle East:
Bahrain:
Home of the headquarters of the Fifth Fleet of the US Navy, whose area of responsibility includes the Gulf, the Red Sea, the Arabian Sea and the parts of the Indian Ocean.
QATAR:
The 24 -hectare Udeid Air Base, in the desert outside the Capital Doha, is the front headquarters of the United States Central Command, which directs US military operations in a large strip of territory that extends from Egypt in the west to Kazakhstan in the east. The largest American base in the Middle East houses about 10,000 troops.
KUWAIT:
Several expanding military facilities include Camp Arifjan, the front headquarters of the US Army Central and the Ali al Salem air base, approximately 40 kilometers from the Iraqi border and known as “La Roca” for its isolated and resistant environment. Camp Buehring was established during the 2003 Iraq war and is a staging position for the US Army units.
UNITED ARAB EMIRATES:
The Air Base Al Dhafra, located south of the capital of the Eau Abu Dhabi and shared with the Eau Air Force, is a critical center of the United States Air Force that has supported key missions against the Islamic State, as well as the recognition deployments throughout the region, according to the United States Central Air Force Command.
The Puerto Jebel Ali de Dubai, although it is not a formal military base, is the largest port of the US Navy. In the Middle East that regularly houses US carriers and other ships.
IRAQ:
The United States maintains a presence in the Ain Al Asad air base in the western province of Anbar, supporting Iraqi security forces and contributing to the NATO mission, according to the White House. Iranian missile attacks attacked the base in 2020, in retaliation for the murder of the United States to General Iraní Qasem Soleimani.
Located in the semi -autonomous region of the Kurdistan in northern Iraq, the Erbil air base serves as a center for US and coalition forces that carry out training and battle exercises. The base supports US military efforts by providing a safe location for training, intelligence exchange and logistics coordination in northern Iraq, according to the Congress report.
SAUDI ARABIA:
American soldiers in Saudi Arabia, which had 2,321 in 2024 according to a White House letter, operate in coordination with the Saudi government, providing air defense and antimiles capabilities and support the operation of US military planes.
Some are parked approximately 60 kilometers south of Riyadh, in the Air Base of Prince Sultan, which supports the air defense assets of the United States Army, including patriot missile batteries and the high -terminal high altitude area defense systems.
JORDAN:
Located in Azraq, 100 kilometers northeast of the Amman capital, the MUWAFFAQ Air Base Al Salti houses the 332º Wing Air Expeditionary of the United States Air Forces, which is involved in missions through Levante, according to a 2024 report in the Library of Congress.
