Balochistan security forces have successfully foiled a major terror attack in Kharaan after uncovering an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) manufacturing factory during an intelligence-based operation.
The operation, carried out by the Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan on December 20, led to the seizure of explosives used to prepare improvised explosive devices, Express News reported.
A motorcycle loaded with 30 kilograms of explosive material, intended to be used in a terrorist attack in the city, was also found.
The timely intervention of FC Balochistan prevented what could have been a devastating attack in the region. The motorcycle bomb, loaded with explosives, was to be deployed in Kharaan to cause massive destruction.
During the operation, a shootout took place between security forces and suspected militants, in which two foreign nationals were injured.
Authorities also seized weapons and other materials related to the planned attack.
