Lovelady, 29, was a tenth round of the state of Kenneaw for the real Kansas City in 2016. He made his debut for the real in 2019. He did not appear in the majority in 2022, but resurfaced with the Oakland athletics in 2023.

Lovelady launched for the Rays of the puppies of Chicago and Tampa Bay in 2024 and was with the Toronto Blue Jays for two appearances earlier this season.

In 110 career games, Lovelady has an effectiveness of 5.26 with 93 strikeouts.

New York has dealt with a series of injuries in his arms this season. The headlines Tylor Megill and Kodai Senga took care of the injuries earlier this month, as well as reliever Max Kranick, and landed on the injured list.
