A Bahawalpur woman, who married a man she met in PUBG, has been accused of kidnapping her sister-in-law and fleeing with stolen jewelery and cash.

Maya Ali, who married Kashan Mahmood after meeting him online through PUBG, allegedly kidnapped Maham Ali, her husband’s younger sister, from her house in Bahawalpur.

Maya, who had been married to Kashan for just three months, reportedly took advantage of her relationship with Maham and absconded with jewelery worth eight tolas and one lakh rupees.

Police have registered a case against Maya Ali and her family, accused of conspiring together in the kidnapping.

The incident occurred on November 2, when Maya lured Maham on the pretext of going for a walk, before forcing her into a car, as seen in CCTV footage.

The case has attracted attention as the investigation faces hurdles due to jurisdictional issues as the accused are located in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, beyond the reach of the Bahawalpur police without additional legal permissions.

The Bahawalpur DPO has sought help from top police authorities in Punjab to arrest the suspects.
