13 million passports issued in two years

The authorities have issued more than 13 million passports in the last two years, including 130,318 to the foreign Pakistanis through the online service, since the country is witnessing an over -entertainment in the demand for this life travel document, according to the annual performance report of the Immigration Directorate and Passports.

Last year, the department issued 53 citizenship certificates of Pakistan, 4,447 renunciation certificates and a certificate of naturalization.

The report says that the address has updated its infrastructure and introduced modern security characteristics. It included 32 new passport counters throughout the country and the 24 -hour passport provision installation in all the main cities of the country.

Ten modern passport printers and 6 laminators have been bought for timely printing impression, while an electronic purchasing system is introduced into passports throughout the country linked to electronic sports. The passport application has also been updated. During the last year, the Passport Department has been built according to modern requirements. The department undertakes to provide easy services to Pakistani citizens around the world, said DG Passports Mustafa Jamal Qazi.
