Pakistan Railways registered a total of 45 train -related incidents in the first six months of 2025, deepening concerns about the persistent security and infrastructure challenges throughout the national rail network.

According to official statistics, from June 1 to 15, there were a total of 45 train -related accidents, including derailments and other incidents. The accidents included 22 derailments that involve passenger trains, 20 that involve load trains and three miscellaneous incidents.
Among the most alarming events was the kidnapping incident that involved Jaffer Express, which has expressed serious concerns about the safety of passengers and trains.
Several individuals suffered injuries as a result of these accidents, while the infrastructure of the Pakistan railroads suffered financial damages that were equivalent to dozens of millions of rupees.
One of the most serious incidents took place on May 21, when the Shalimar Express, who was traveling from Karachi to Lahore, crashed with a brick -loaded cart at a non -manned level crossing near Sahianwala Darul Ehsan. The impact caused the 15 train coaches to derailed.
On May 30, the Rehman Baba Express found an accident after hitting a cart at another non -manned level crossing. On June 1, Pakistan’s express avoided a great disaster when a cart under his dining car separated near Mubarakpur.
On June 14, three separate incidents related to the train were produced. Khushhal Khan Khattak Express, on the way to Peshawar, made six bogies derail in Kandhkot.
