Pakistan, Eau sign mou on visa exemption


Islamabad:

The twelfth session of the Joint Ministerial Commission of Pakistan-EA (JMC), reviewing the complete scope of bilateral relations, agreed concrete measures to strengthen bilateral cooperation in commerce, banking, investment and other sectors.

Held in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday, the meeting was co -chaired by the Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, and the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Eau Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Before the formal procedures, a group meeting of the JMC was held under the special assistant leadership of Prime Minister Tariq Bajwa and the Minister of State of the EAU, Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh.

The Joint Ministerial Commission agreed concrete measures to strengthen cooperation in culture, aviation, railways, energy, food security, climate change, defense, medical care, labor, higher education and information technology.

Both parties emphasized the improvement of institutional mechanisms and the promotion of inter-ministerial coordination.

Held in an atmosphere of mutual understanding and brotherhood, the session included exchanges on regional and global developments.

Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to peace and stability in the region.

A protocol was also signed, describing procedure frameworks for monitoring actions, coordination through sector work groups and facilitation for reciprocal visits.

In addition to the session protocol, comprehension memorandums on “mutual exemption of input visa requirements” and “establishment of a joint work group were signed to promote investments”, as well as an agreement on “Artificial Intelligence and Digital Economy”.

Both parties expressed their satisfaction with the results and agreed to celebrate the 13th JMC session in Pakistan on mutually agreed dates.

The successful call of the JMC session underlines the deeply rooted and multifaceted relationship between Pakistan and the EAU and their shared vision for a dynamic and progressive association.

BPC

The second round of bilateral political consultations (BPC) between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (EAU) held in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday reviewed the entire spectrum of bilateral relations and reaffirmed its determination to further strengthen cooperation in multiple sectors.

The two parties discussed the regional and global developments of mutual interest and reiterated their commitment to greater coordination and dialogue in multilateral forums.

The Pakistan delegation was directed by Shehryar Akbar Khan, Secretary of Additional Foreign Affairs (Middle East), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while the Eau side was directed by Rep Ketait, Deputy Minister of Political Affairs of Political Affairs, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he said in a press release.

The additional Foreign Secretary stressed the importance of further deepen the strong fraternal ties between Pakistan and the EAU, based on shared values, mutual respect and common interests.

Both parties appreciated the positive trajectory of bilateral relations and expressed their satisfaction in the progress carried out under the existing institutional mechanisms, including the joint ministerial commission (JMC) and regular exchanges at the leadership level.
