The Dodgers of Los Angeles and the parents of San Diego wrote the last chapter in their rivalry when the shelters cleared after Fernando Tatis Jr. was hit by a launch last week.

The parents manager, Mike Shildt, left the bench and began shouting towards the Dodgers’ refuge, which led the Dodgers Dave Roberts manager to face Shildt. The two managers were nose for a moment before separating.

The member of the Baseball Hall of Fame, Trevor Hoffman, participated in rivalry as a member of the parents for almost 16 seasons. Hoffman works as the main advisor to baseball operations with parents.

Hoffman, 57, spoke with Pak Gazette Digital about how the rivalry between Dodgers and parents has a “feeling of old school.”

“(The clear of the banks is) an extension of how heated this rivalry has become. It really is a palette where their team is. It is passionate, the boys are concerned with winning games on both sides and sometimes these things happen,” Hoffman told Pak Gazette Digital.

“It’s a bit of old school feeling, and I know there are rules to try to reduce some things like this. But when you play high -level baseball, and you are trying to win ball games, these things will happen and, honestly, I think it’s good for the game.”

Dodgers and parents have matched the playoffs in three of the last five positions. The Dodgers swept the 3-0 parents at the NLDS 2020 on their way to a World Series title.

In the NLDS 2022, the parents knocked down the Dodgers in four games to advance to the NLC. In the NLDS 2024, the parents had an advantage of the 2-1 series and pushed the Dodgers to the Brink, but the Dodgers joined together to move forward and win another world series.

The two teams have played seven regular season games this season, and the Dodgers have won five. In those seven games, Tatis had been beaten by a release three times.

Twice after Tatis was drilled, the parents of the parents hit the shohei ohtani of the Dodgers with an launch in alleged reprisals.

“They have passed many times (Tatis had been beaten), and when he is your star player, at some point, he protects,” said Hoffman.

“And there are other aspects in the game when you feel that someone is stealing signs in one place or someone gets hard on a base that you are going to monitor the game. But there are established rules that try to prevent such things from happening.”

Hoffman said the bank cleaning incident between the two clubs can galvanize a team.

“You don’t want a boy with your own uniform to feel that you are taking advantage, and you certainly feel as if they have attacked you, and I am sure that both parties did,” said Hoffman.

“You use it as a fuel to galvanize your side. With luck, that energy stays with both ball clubs and continue to play a good baseball.”

Hoffman said he succeeds, a pitcher has to launch inside, but you should know how to do it.

“You have to participate to succeed in this game. It’s just that you have to learn to launch. You can’t let some things escape from you, especially over your shoulders,” said Hoffman.

The Dodgers have 48-31 and lead the NL West for 3½ games about the San Francisco giants in second place. The parents have 42-26 and there are 5½ games behind the Dodgers.

The next time the two NL West rivals will face is from August 15 to 17 in Los Angeles and from August 22 to 24 in San Diego.
