The International Day in support of the victims of torture, Pakistan expressed solidarity with the people of Palestine and India, illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (Iiojk), condemning acts of torture and brutality for the occupant forces.
In a statement published today, Pakistan expressed his strong opposition to torture, underlining that he remains deeply committed to eradicating such practices and strengthening the protection of human dignity. The country reaffirmed the commitment to eradicate torture and solidarity position with victims around the world.
The Foreign Ministry declared that torture, in all its forms, is incompatible with the central values of justice, mercy and compassion integrated into Islam. These principles, he added, are the basis of the position of the nation on human rights.
“Islam defends the holiness and dignity of each human being,” reads the statement. “Any act of cruel, inhuman or degrading torture or treatment is inconsistent with the values of justice and compassion in the center of Islamic teachings.”

According to the statement, Pakistan’s commitment to combat torture is reflected in his continuous legal reforms and the strengthening of institutional safeguards.
The government is actively improving supervision mechanisms and legal frameworks to guarantee responsibility and protect people from inhuman practices. In addition, efforts are being made to provide torture victims with essential medical, legal and psychological support.
