Economic team praised for ‘balanced budget’


Islamabad:

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the entire economic team on Thursday, particularly the Minister of Finance, Muhammad Aurengzeb, for his arduous work and dedication in the preparation of the federal budget for fiscal year 2025-26.

He also expressed his gratitude to the federal cabinet and the allied political parties for his support to end the budget.

By chairing the cabinet meeting, the prime minister also talked about the recent regional developments and welcomed the fire between Israel and Iran, qualifying a crucial step to avoid a greater escalation and loss. He thanked God for the peaceful resolution and recognized the important role played by several countries, including Saudi Arabia, to guarantee the high fire.

He said that Iran openly thanked the people of Pakistan, their political, military and political leadership for their role in guaranteeing the high fire between the two countries.

“Iranian leadership specifically appointed the president of Pakistan, himself and the field marshal, for his contribution to high fire efforts,” said the prime minister.

As for the attack of Iran in Qatar, the prime minister said that Pakistan had also issued a statement of condemnation, reiterating the strong ties of Pakistan with the fraternal nation.

Regarding Muharram Ul Haram, Shehbaz Sharif ordered the interested authorities to guarantee a strict law and order during processions and Majalis throughout the country. He also instructed the Interior Minister to coordinate with the provincial governments, Gilgit-Baltist and Azad Jammu and Kashmir to maintain peace and security during the month.
