Ashura will fall on July 6


Islamabad:

The Central Committee of Ruet-E-Hilal announced on Thursday the sighting of the moon Muharram-uham for the Islamic year 1447 AH, which marked the beginning of the new Islamic year from Friday, June 27.

Consequently, Ashura, Muharram’s tenth, will be observed on Sunday, July 6.

The announcement was made by the president of the Maucan Committee Syed Muhammad Abdul Khabeer Azad after a meeting held at the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Quetta.

The officials of the Department of Meteorology of Pakistan and the National Space Agency, Supparco, also attended.
