The sudden floods caused by heavy rains in SWAT have claimed the lives of at least 11 people, with several more missing.
The continuous downpour in the last two days has caused a significant increase in the flow of the Swat River, which leads to local authorities to issue a maximum alert.
Rescue teams so far have recovered two bodies, and search operations continue in various places, including Fiza Gat, Bypass, Manyar and Khwazakhela. In the location of Fiza Gat, 10 tourists, including women and children, were dragged by the waters of the flood, and two bodies were recovered.
In the location of bypass, 17 people drowned, with four recovered bodies and three other rescued alive.
In addition, heavy rains made a roof of the house collapse in Khwazakhela, which resulted in the tragic death of a 7 -year -old girl, Zuneina.
Rescue operations in other areas affected by floods such as Ghaligai, Manyar and Panjigram have also been underway, with several people rescued from the growing waters of floods.
Meanwhile, in Mardan, 22 individuals were trapped in the Imam Dheri for sudden floods, but since then they have been safely rescued.
Other rescue operations are ongoing in several parts of Swat, including Mettah, where 20 to 30 people were stranded due to floods. They were all evacuated safely.
The authorities continue to advise residents near the Swat River to evacuate, since water levels remain dangerously high.
Despite the waters that move quickly, rescue teams remain dedicated to finding and helping those affected by the devastating floods.
