PM Shehbaz meets parliamentarians after budget approval 2025


Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif acclaimed the federal budget for fiscal year 2025-26 as a reflection of the needs of people.

During a meeting with the senators and members of the National Assembly one day after the lower house approved a federal budget of RS17.6 billion rupees, appreciated the economic work team when creating a budget that represents the aspirations of the Pakistani people and thanked the allied parts for shaping the same.

The National Assembly approved on Thursday the budget of RS17.6 billion values ​​together with RS463 billion new taxes, carrying the digital economy under the scope of fiscal laws, but almost annulled the largest execution measure to prohibit the economic transactions of ineligible persons. The budget was approved with a comfortable majority.

The prime minister emphasized the importance of unity in the future for Pakistan’s economic growth.

He asked all interested parties to work together tirelessly for the country’s progress, stating: “I firmly believe that this exemplary unit will guarantee Pakistan’s economic growth.”

Shehbaz also stressed Pakistan’s recent victory over India against unjustified aggression and praised the combined efforts of the Armed Forces, political leadership, public, civil society and the media by defeating the nefarious intentions of the enemy.

The prime minister said that this victory has raised the global position of Pakistan.

In addition, he praised the diplomatic efforts led by the president of the Popular Party of Pakistan, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, by presenting the clear position of Pakistan and exposing the aggressive plans of India before the international community.

The delegation, directed by Bilawal, was warmly received internationally, and the Pakistani abroad also cheered the government and the armed forces for their diplomatic and military events, according to Shehbaz.

By the recently completed Israel-Iran War, Shehbaz reiterated the total solidarity of Pakistan with Iran and the Iranian people.

He added that Pakistan had maintained a complete communication with Iranian leadership, particularly with President Dr. Masoud fishshkian, during the conflict.

The prime minister expressed the hope that the resolution of the Israel-Iran dispute would open doors to peace and prosperity in the region.

The meeting attended the president of the Senate, members of the Federal Cabinet and members of the National Assembly.
