ISLAMABAD:
The Senate Standing Committee on Finance will meet on December 24 to deliberate on the Tax Laws Amendment Bill of 2024, a legislative proposal that seeks to introduce tough measures to widen the tax net.
The proposed bill includes provisions such as classifying non-filers as “ineligible persons” and implementing a plan to collect taxes from filers based on actual income and expenses.
Under the proposed bill, non-filers will be prohibited from purchasing vehicles and property. They will also be prohibited from opening bank accounts.
