Los Angeles Chargers chief coach Jim Harbaugh, was added on Friday to a lawsuit against his former employer, Michigan University and a former soccer assistant coach accused of hacking computer systems to acquire photos of university athletes.
The lawyers claim that Harbaugh allowed Matt Weiss to continue working as a co-fensive coordinator in a national playoff game after Weiss was seen seeing private information on a computer in December 2022.
“The university’s delay in taking significant protective measures until after a high -risk game sends a clear message: student well -being was secondary,” said Parker Stinar, the main lawyer in a collective claim that arises from a criminal investigation of Weiss.

“If Harbaugh had implemented the basic supervision of his staff, the plaintiffs and the class would have been protected against predators such as Weiss,” says the updated demand. “On the other hand, Weiss was a highly compensated asset that was promoted by and within the football program, from what position he could and did, attack student athletes.”
Associated Press’s messages looking for comments from Harbaugh and Atlético de Michigan director Warde Manuel, were not immediately returned on Friday.
The demand says that a staff member saw Weiss watching private information in Schembechler Hall, headquarters of the football team, around December 21, 2022, and reported it before Michigan played the Texas Christian University in a playoff game later on December 31.

Weiss was fired a few weeks later in January 2023 during an investigation of the use of your computer.
Earlier this year, after the positions were presented, Harbaugh told journalists that he knew nothing about Weiss’s problems until after the playoff game. He said the accusations were “shocking.”

According to the accusation, Weiss “obtained unauthorized access to the databases of students and athletes from more than 100 schools and universities that were maintained by an external supplier.” Then supposedly downloaded personal information and data from more than 150,000 athletes. From there, Weiss could access the information of more than 2,000 athletes, including access to their social networks, email and cloud storage.
Weiss is accused of using this information to download “personal and intimate digital photographs and videos that were never destined to be shared beyond the intimate partners,” prosecutors said. The alleged crimes took place from 2015 to January 2023, and it is alleged that it had mainly directed women.
Weiss, who was fired in 2023 for not cooperating with school investigation, declared himself innocent.
Weiss worked for Harbaugh’s brother, John, at the Baltimore Ravens coaching staff of the NFL before joining Michigan in 2021.
The demand says that the Weiss University computer had encryption software that had to be disabled by an external supplier as part of the research. The authorities revealed in April that thousands of intimate photos and videos were found on their electronic devices and cloud storage accounts.

The NCAA previously issued an order of cause of a four-year show for Harbaugh after determining that the coach had inadmissible contact with recruits and players during the restricted period COVID-19.
