Light rain probably, skies remain partially cloudy

After two consecutive days of rain, Karachi remains under partially cloudy skies today with light rain probably, according to the Pakistan Department of Meteorology.

The weather system that brought more than 58 millimeters of rain to the city has weakened, reducing the intensity of the expected rain. Light showers are forecast today, while drizzle can continue tomorrow.

Meteorologists partially anticipate completely cloudy skies in the next few days due to the persistent impact of the system.

It is projected that moisture levels will range between 65% and 85%, which makes temperatures feel 6 ° C to 8 ° C warmer than real readings.

The maximum karachi temperature is expected to reach 32 ° C today, compared to the maximum registered of 30 ° C yesterday.

In the last 24 hours, the city of Armejani saw the highest rain at 58.2 mm, followed by the city of Saadi (47.5 mm), Gulshan-E-Maymar (37.4 mm) and Hadeed (37 mm).

The localities of the city center such as Liaquatabad, northern Karachi, the city of Orangi and Gulshan-E-Iqbal faced severe flooding.

Overflowing drains near Iqbal Plaza in northern Karachi and Morr defense worsened, while open man’s wells and wastewater spills expressed sanitation concerns.

The main roads, including Share Faisal, Shahrah-E-Pakistan and Rashid Minhas Road, saw a significant interruption of traffic, with stranded vehicles and travelers fighting in submerged streets.
