Lakki Marwat:

In an objective act of terrorism, the leader of a local peace committee and two of his teammates were shot dead on Sunday in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Lakki Marwat district, police confirmed.

Ghulam Dastager, known locally as Fauji and head of the Peace Committee of Shahab Khel, was on his way to the Qabol Khel area when the gunmen ambushed his vehicle in the Kara Wanda region. His companions, Salem Khan and Salahuddin, were also killed on the spot.

Shortly after the incident, the security forces launched a search operation in the surrounding area to detain the attackers and avoid greater violence.

The objective murder occurs as a continuation of the growing militant activity in Lakki Marwat, where the members of the Peace Committee, responsible for supporting the application of the local law and resisting terrorist influence, have been attacked more and more.

This is not the first time that peace committee officials have been attacked in KP. In April alone, two mortal attacks were produced against these groups, one of which took place in Lakki Marwat.

On April 29, the members of a local peace committee were involved in a fierce battle with alleged terrorists in the Begukhel area after the assailants supposedly killed an old man and injured their relatives.

Previously, on April 26, a powerful explosion crossed an office of the Peace Committee in southern Wazirist, killing at least seven people and hurting another 16. The explosion was widely condemned as another attempt to destabilize efforts for community security.
