A police officer was martyred in the Shahpur area of Peshawar after the unidentified assailants opened fire on Saturday morning. The attackers fled the scene after the incident. The funeral prayer of the martyr was held with all the official honors in the police lines of Malik Shaheed, which the police and the senior military officers attended.
According to the police, agent Shahenshah, son of Ahmad Jan, who served as a reader at the Hashtnagri police station, was on their way to the service when unidentified gunmen ambushed it in the Budhani area under the limits of the Shahpur Police Station. He died in the place due to multiple gunshot wounds. According to the reports, the attackers, riding a motorcycle, managed to escape.
Upon receiving the information, the rural division SP, Mukhtiar Ali, hastened to the scene with the local police, changed the body for postmortem and collected key evidence of the crime site.
Later in the day, the funeral prayer of the martyred agent was offered in the police lines of Malik Shaheed in Peshawar.
