Islamabad:
A local court in Islamabad ordered the reinstatement of Dr. Ziaul Qayyum as Executive Director of the Higher Education Commission (HEC). However, despite the orders of the Court, the administration made did not allow it to enter the facilities.
Dr. Ziaul Qayyum reached the headquarters of Hran to resume the position in the light of the Court’s decision, but could not formally assume the position. According to the sources, the security personnel had been deployed in all the entrances of the Secretariat of Hec. When Dr. Qayyum tried to enter the facilities, his vehicle was excluded from the entrance.
According to the reports, all the entrance and exit doors of the HAJA building were blocked, and the security officials informed Dr. Qayyum that they had been led by the higher authorities not to allow any vehicle or individual to enter.
The sources confirmed that a local court in Islamabad had suspended the previous orders eliminating Dr. Qayyum from office during a hearing on Saturday. The written judicial order was issued the next day, depending on which Dr. Qayyum proceeded to HAV for reinstatement. However, access to the building was denied.
Speaking to The Express PAkGazette at the door, Dr. Qayyum alleged that the door personnel mistreated him and harassed him, who rejected him the entrance despite the judicial orders. “No one has the authority to challenge a court order,” he said.
The sources also revealed that the office of the executive director had been closed and that all the entry of vehicles to the facilities of Hazed had been suspended since the morning. Later in the afternoon, Dr. Qayyum returned to the HARS with a certified copy of the Court’s decision, but he could not officially take care of his position.
