PM reaffirms commitment to equal opportunities for women on National Working Women’s Day

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to ensuring that women have equal opportunities to prosper and contribute to the country’s development, marking National Working Women’s Day with a message of gratitude and support.

In his speech, the Prime Minister celebrated the invaluable contributions of Pakistani women in shaping society and driving economic progress. “Women make up more than half of our population and their role is fundamental to the future of our nation,” she said.

Quoting the founding father, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Sharif quoted: “No nation can reach the peak of glory unless your women are by your side.”

Prime Minister Shehbaz recognized the significant achievements of women in leadership positions in various sectors including education, healthcare, business and public service. “The contributions of women are indispensable not only in professional fields but also in raising families and training the future generation,” she added.

The Prime Minister further highlighted the government’s continuous efforts to support working women, highlighting initiatives such as interest-free loans for women entrepreneurs, an endowment fund for women’s education and sports development, and daycare centers to ease the burden of balancing work and family life.

Specialized training programs aimed at improving skills have also been introduced to help women advance in their careers and leadership positions.

The Prime Minister concluded by expressing his vision for a future in which women in leadership positions are not the exception but the norm. She urged the creation of more women-friendly work environments to enable them to thrive, ensuring that they continue to play a vital role in Pakistan’s progress and prosperity.
