Islamabad:
The Superior Court of Islamabad revoked a life sentence sentence granted in a case of kidnapping and violation of children, acquitting the convict for reasonable doubt.
Judge Mohsin Akhtar Kayani issued a detailed verdict that annuls the decision of the Court of First Instance, which had sentenced the defendant, Salem Ghouri, to life imprisonment together with a fine of RS50,000.
According to the sentence, inconsistencies in the management and custody of forensic evidence undermined the credibility of the Prosecutor’s Office. In addition, the conduct of key prosecution witnesses and the plaintiff was considered unreliable.
