A mortal bomb explosion hit the Nawagai area of the Bajaur district on Wednesday, killing at least four people and hurting another 11, according to local officials.
The explosion occurred in Nawagai Road near Sadiqabad Phatak in Khar Tehsil, and, according to the reports, he went to a government vehicle.
Among those killed were the assistant commissioner Nawagai, Tehsildar Nawagai, identified as Waqil, a police deputy and a police officer, police sources said.
The injured were transferred to the Khar hospital, where emergency treatment is underway. Rescue operations are ongoing on the blast site.
Officials have not yet published details about the type of explosive used. No group has assumed the responsibility of the attack so far.
