After recording his twelfth professional victory during the weekend, Jake Paul now may have no choice but to try to silence his critics.
Paul defeated former CMB medium-weight champion Julio César Chavez Jr., son of the boxing legend that had five different world titles in four different classes, on Saturday in Anaheim, and moved to 12-1.
With the victory, Paul is now officially classified for the first time, reaching number 14 in the Cruise weight ranking of the AMB.

This now makes it eligible for a fight for the title against Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramírez, who has 48-1. Ramírez defended his title at the main event on Saturday, beating Yuniel Dorticos (in the number 7) before Paul and Chávez Jr. took the ring.
Paul’s career has often made fun of his opponents, fighters who are out of his cousins. Like Mike Tyson, Anderson Silva and Tyron Woodley, or unpopular professionals such as Ryan Bourland and Andre August. However, he has remained firm that he wants to become a world champion.
In fact, he made the prediction to Pak Gazette Digital who would win a title before the summer of 2028.
Piers Morgan was recently challenged Paul about his opponents, namely, the super medium champion Canelo Álvarez, but Paul again said Álvarez “dodged him.”

Jake Paul faces an unusual call from the former boxing champion
“Anderson Silva, Tyron Woodley, champions in his sport. Gold gloves, champions, Ryan Bourland, Andre August, undefeated combatants. The list continues,” Paul to Morgan told Morgan before his fight counter cad Jr. that’s why Chavez is here on Saturday.
“I have fought against several boxers with professional records, including Mike Tyson himself.”
Paul said in February that he and Álvarez were in “deep negotiations” for a fight that would have happened during the weekend of May 5. However, Álvarez ended up signing a four fight agreement with the Riyadh season to fight in Saudi Arabia.
“It is disappointing to see how the situation developed. MVP operates with integrity, transparency and respect for sport, its athletes and fans. Unfortunately, not all in the world of boxing share those values,” said Paul’s most valuable promotions at that time.

Both Paul and Ramírez’s upcoming opponents are TBD, but perhaps the fact that both main boiled card could be a form of omen.
