PTIR Sanam Javed activist released from Kot Lakhpp’s jail

Pakistan Tehreek-I-Insaf activist (PTI) Sanam Javed was released from the Kot Lakhpp prison on Wednesday, two days after the Superior Court of Lahore ordered its release in a case recorded under charges of inciting the disturbances and raising antistatal slogans.

According to Express News, Javed was released in the presence of workers and followers of the party, who bathed her with rose petals when she left prison. Later he returned home.

Javed had been arrested along with her husband, Professor Atiq, by the police near Kot Lakhpp’s prison on April 27. The arrest occurred shortly after she appeared for a judicial hearing related to the cases of May 9.

The PTI activist has been arrested several times during the last year in relation to the protests and the alleged participation in the incidents of May 9, after the arrest of the founder of PTI Imran Khan.

His last arrest was made in relation to a signed registered at the Islampura police station. Police accused her of blocking a road, singing provocative slogans and inciting riots against the State.

The case, registered under the FIR NO 486, also appoints the leaders of PTI Alia Hamza, Nazia Baloch and intizar Hussain Panjotha, along with 35 unidentified individuals. The FIR was housed on February 8.
