- VW adjusts to transporting models and kombi with 65kwh battery
- The electric range is around 196 miles
- AirConsole Gaming will come as standard throughout the commercial range
Volkswagen has announced that it has expanded its transport line with electric battery variants of the popular Shuttle and Kombi models of its range of commercial vehicles, which adds a more practical and robust truck option to its existing identification buzz model.
While the buzz of the identification captured the public’s imagination with its funky and retro inspiration appearance, it lacked the transport capacities of its transport cousins. Even the seven -seating variant fighting with space to load bulky items.
The Kombi, on the other hand, has historically demonstrated a great success between professionals and families equally, simply because it can transport a family of five, as well as several mountain bicycles, a tent and a dog without sweating.
Electrified iterations add a 65KWH lithium ion battery, which results in 194 miles for the ferry and 196 miles of rank for the Kombi model, presumably because the first is heavier, since it can be chosen with an impressive nine seats.
Both the Kombi and the transport service will be available in versions of short or long wheelbases, and the first capable of handling a maximum useful load of 896 kg and the second available with the nine seats mentioned above, instead of eight as standard.
Team levels are also generous, with things like front seats with heating, a 13 -inch touch screen and front and rear view cameras, all are standard in the input level models.
The brand also announced this week that the AirConsole application, which allows users to play a range of 15 arcade games when it is parked, is now available as an exaggerated update in current generation ID models, Caddy, Multivan, California and Crafter.
This will probably be implemented in the last range of transporters in the near future.
ANALYSIS: Electric trucks still have a path to go
In the United Kingdom, the cheapest electrified transporter Kombi is sold to £ 53,404 (about $ 73,183 / AU $ 111,423), which underline the cheapest identification buzz, which costs £ 59,135 (about $ 81,035 / Au $ 123,381).
But do not get too excited, because the buzz of ID offers up to 293 miles of electric range and load capabilities of 200kw, thanks to its 77kwh battery in the standard version of the wheelbase. You can also opt for a spicy GTX model that offers 335 hp for severe acceleration.
The Kombi electrified transporter and transport, on the other hand, use a single electric motor that develops 134 hp, which is located at the lower end of what gasoline and diesel counterparts offer, despite the fact that electrified versions are heavier.
It can also be charged at speeds up to 125kw, which means that a 10-80% charge will take at least 39 minutes.
As long -standing owner of the various VW ice transporters models, very little is close to practicality, load load skills and the relaxed impulse offered by the German brand.
It is a controversial opinion, but after living with the identification buzz for a week, I think it looks a bit uncomfortable, especially in the longest seven -seater versions, and the interior room is not enough to transport motorcycles or masses of camp kit, as well as the whole family.
The latest versions of electric vehicle vehicles of the popular transporter approach Vee Dub van Perfection for me, is a penalty about the limited range, performance and loading speeds. Ah, and that price.
