Peterson said he didn’t even know that Phillips had registered for the event until he had already registered and even argued with the officials about the situation.
“If I had known, I would not have spent thousands of dollars on trips and time out of work to come and make a career,” Peterson said.
“I said: ‘I don’t want to compete against a man’, and they quickly scolded me and said ‘Oh, you can’t call him a man’, and I’m like ‘good, he’s a man’, so they quickly scold me and corrected that she is a woman and I don’t even know what to say.”
The Vetarana Women’s Cyclist Debbie Milne competed in Tuesday’s event, ending in the seventh place. Milne also spoke against US cycling. Uu. For allowing Phillips to compete.
“To be fair to all humans, if we mean, he was born as a biological man, that is a fact,” Milne told Pak Gazette Digital. “And that is what makes it an unfair advantage. What has happened after that is a completely different topic.
“I have run for 25 years in conditions that only women can understand. There are many things for which only a woman born due to the cycles we have. Even that is only something that a biological man born in men can never experience. There is nothing that can stimulate that, when she presents himself to the race and is at the worst point of the monthly cycle and you know you are at a disadvantage.”
Milne also said she was not aware of the participation of the Trans athlete before the race.

The female veteran cyclist Kristina Gray, who did not compete against Phillips on Tuesday, wanted to speak in support of her companions because she said she also had to compete against trans athletes in cycling as Oregon native.
“I have in my last 10 years of races, I have had to compete against biological men, I have been forced to be on the podium with many of them, more recently the last five years,” Gray said. “In Oregon, every weekend, there is a biological man in our careers, every weekend, practically.”
The three women communicated with the Independent Women’s Sports Council (icons) to disseminate the conscience of the incident.
