Arizona State QB Sam Leavitt maintains the list of field marshals it intends to overcome

The field marshal of the state of Arizona Sun Devils, Sam Leavitt, has a list written on a board in his room.

It is a list of field marshal, and no, they are not the ones who aspires to be. He is the field marshal who wishes to defeat his 2025 season.

Leavitt would not disseminate the exact names on the list, but it is a tactic that he has used for some time to help him give him that additional motivation impulse every time he needs it.

It is something that Leavitt learned from his older brother, Dallin, who played six seasons in the NFL in security.

“I never had a list growing,” Leavitt told Pak Gazette Digital. “There were always classified people higher than I would see, but I guess my brother told me in a moment: ‘You have to chase someone.’ For him, that worked very well.

“I tightened a few years before I really cared because I was so little recruited that I was not even on the list, I was not even in the top 25 or in the top 50. Therefore, it is a bit difficult to put the names.”

The list, now, is justified for Leavitt, whose breakup season in his first year with the Sun Devils showed someone worthy of being in the conversation of the best university soccer field marshal who are heading to the 2025 campaign.

Leavitt was a prospect of Oregon Ducks that is overlooked before transferring to the state of Michigan in 2023. He only saw time in four games, and came out again, this time to direct team XII of coach Rob Dillingham in Tempe.

The measure turned out to be the best, since Leavitt helped take the state of Arizona to the university football playoffs after winning the Big XII conference. Leavitt launched for 2,885 yards with 24 touchdowns at six interceptions, while also ran for 443 yards and five scores.

“Now I am at this point where I am close to the 10 best boys, I put those names and it gives me a little more,” he said. “When I need a little additional motivation to get up 30 minutes before, or go to bed before, make my last stretching or look at this little tape when it’s like, ‘ugh, I really don’t want’. That list gives you that last kick.”

While it can provide fuel when necessary, Leavitt’s Drive does not need to revolve around reading the names of other quartbacks every day.

In fact, despite all the good that left last year for Leavitt, he is not satisfied with the results.

“I did not play at the level at which I wanted to play, and I went so much about the table I felt as,” he said when he was asked how he reflected in the 2024 season. “That only gives me the impulse in the low season to do what I should do. And that’s how each player should feel: you should never feel satisfied with what you did.

“I even look back in my last year when we won the state title, he never sat well with me. I don’t know, I just didn’t play at the level I wanted to play, and I suppose that perfection is what drives me and makes me who I am.”

The Sun Devils now have an objective in the back as the Queen Big XII champions, so Leavitt and their teammates from the state of Arizona go to the New Year with high expectations.

And that is perfectly good for Leavitt, who has another word on his board next to the field of field marshal: Heisman.

“I would say that a Heisman and National Championship, that is the ultimate goal,” he said. “But every day it is making the team improve. You have to have these great goals so that in general I pursue something. But that does not come without daily work, so it is better that I improve last year. Uploading to the team, that I studied, reproduce myself, so everything is the main objective of day to day.”
