- It is likely that AMD RX 9070 XT is as low as it will do in terms of prices
- The demand for GPU (and other components) is expected to increase later in the year
- In addition to the effects of tariffs, this could mean substantial price increases for graphics cards, a YouTube filter tells us
Now it could be the perfect time to attack and buy one of the RX 9070 XT graphics cards of AMD, since the price of this GPU has recently decreased, and it is likely to increase later in 2025.
That is the theory floated by the law of Moore is Dead (MLID), a regular filter on YouTube, which discusses the RX 9070 XT prices, and the imminent spectrum of the GPU price increases more widely, in the second half of its last video.
MLID observes that price labels in RX 9070 XT have decreased significantly (from almost $ 900 to around $ 700), which are approaching the MSRP (although it is not yet at all there, the recommended price is $ 600). It is also a similar story in other regions, such as the United Kingdom, since prices have lowered a lot.
That is, of course, good news for potential buyers, but MLID contacted several sources in the retailers and discovered the other news not so good about those possible price increases.
MLID explains that prices have dropped at this time due to slow summer sales, as expected at this time of year, but that we have probably reached the lowest point. These retail sources indicate that prices can decrease more, but it is probably more likely to stabilize at the level they are now.
Upon entering the last quarter of 2025, we will see apparently price increases, however, beyond normal seasonal reasons (vacation sales), that is. The latter will remain a factor here, naturally, but MLID states that there will be additional pressure in all PC components, including GPUs, because companies are forced to update Windows 11.
Remember that Windows 10 will reach the end of the support in October 2025, so this will be a factor in the fourth quarter, since organizations impose orders for the new hardware, which increases demand. Consumers will also play with that demand to a lesser extent.
The third factor in the game with potential price increases is that during the third quarter of 2025, they tell us that reserves of components prior to the rate are dried. All this adds to a gloomy image for the supply and demand of the fourth quarter, which increases prices not only in RX 9070 XT, but in all GPUs and, in fact, in many other components.
What happens if there are offers achieved and all Trump rates disappear later in 2025? Even in that case, due to the nature of the shipping electronics and the long transport times associated with the load ships, we cannot expect any stock relief or prices to be materialized in 2025.

ANALYSIS: The final result
The final result of MLID, based on all the conversations it has had with sources in retail and distribution trade, is that we are probably seeing price increases from 10% to 30% in several technological goods, including GPUs. That is a fairly generalized statement, but nevertheless, one so much worrying: it takes some seasoning with it, naturally, although the logic behind the YouTuber’s thought makes sense.
Then, we return to RX 9070 XT: If you are looking to buy a upper middle range GPU for 1440p or 4K games, it seems that July is a good time to buy. In addition, remember that we have just discovered that RX 9070 XT is now almost 10% faster than in the launch, thanks to the improvements that AMD has introduced with subsequent versions of its graphic controller.
This means that RX 9070 XT seems a more tempting perspective, especially if you consider that this month you can see the cheapest price you will get for this excellent AMD GPU. Although yes, the fact that it is still for MSRP can be annoying, I do not deny it, but the 9070 XT is still much cheaper than the rival RTX 5070 TI, and a much better value proposal in general.
And speaking of that graphics card (also highly qualified) Nvidia, MLID points out that retail sources indicate that the RTX 5070 TI is also sold better now, and apparently it is matching 9070 xt in some retailers (although AMD is still ahead in others). That is still a victory for AMD, of course, that in terms of general participation in the desktop GPU market is far behind Nvidia.
Another thought that can happen for you is: What about Black Friday for RX 9070 XT at the end of this year? Given all this talk, I would not have anything convincing that happens there, especially because graphics cards are never one of the strongest areas for price reduction in that sale. However, it is worth watching the imminent main day.
