When it comes to cleaning habits, opinions vary greatly. Administer all the articles of apartment care in Techradar, and although I have some of the best vacuum in my closet, and I spend much more time thinking about the vacuum than the average person, that does not mean that I am really doing it regularly.
To find out if my cleaning habits are up to it, I decided to find out, of a cleaning expert, exactly how often we should all aspire to our floors. I talked to Kiril Natov, a carpet cleaning technician and upholstery and CLEANING COMPANY CLEAN, with 18 years of experience in the industry. This is what I had to say …
How often should carpets aspire?
“Aim to empty carpets at least twice a week, even if they don’t seem dirty,” Suggests Natov. If you have pets or children, you recommend increasing that frequency.
Does what kind of emptiness do you use? “For cut pile carpets, use a vacuum with a bar or brush to improve cleaning,” says Natov. A whipping bar is just a rotating roller inside the cleaner’s head, often with bristles, which helps to stir the carpet fibers. When the Techradar team recommends the best carpet vacuum cleaners, we also look for models that have enough suction to get dust and debris that get deeper into the carpet.
Natov also suggests that you can use a robovac. My experience is that even today’s best robot vacuum cleaners do not have enough suction for a really deep carpet, but they are excellent for keeping abreast of regular and light cleansing.
How often should the hard floor aspire?
“We recommend aspiring wood floors once a week,” says Natov. He suggests using the hard floor of his vacuum cleaner if he has one.
What kind of vacuum should you use for hard floors? “Any vacuum can suck dust, hair and look like its wooden floors, tiles or vinyl, but some models do better than others,” says Natov. “To avoid debris dispersion or possibly damage delicate floors, look for a vacuum that allows you to turn off the rotating brush roll or have a special cleaning head with soft bristles.”
My own higher selections for the best vacuum cleaners for the hard wooden floor are models that include a dedicated spongy floor head, as Natov says, these are perfect for cleaning the dust and rubble on the surface of even delicate hard floors. The examples include Dyson V15 detect and The Dreame R20.

How often should your sofa aspirate?
“We recommend aspiring the furniture and upholstery fabric once a month,” says Natov, and points out that pet owners could want to increase that to biweekly. He suggests paying special attention to his sofa: it is one of the areas of high traffic in his home, so he will surely collect dirt and dust.
When it comes to cleaning furniture and upholstery, it is the accessories. If you are buying a wireless vacuum cleaner, look for one with a motorized cleaner head, such as a shrubed version of the head of the main floor. This will help you cover larger and unequal surfaces such as sofa cushions.
The last hot advice of Natov to guarantee complete cleaning is to stay over the maintenance of the vacuum cleaner. Clean your filters regularly (and make sure they are completely dry before replacing them on the machine, or your vacuum will begin to smell), replace the filters in line with the manufacturer’s guidelines, keep up to do the cup of dust and do not forget to clean the accessories too.
