Jeff Bezos responds to rumors about his Christmas wedding plan with Lauren Sánchez

Jeff Bezos has ended speculation about a Christmas wedding with his fiancée Lauren Sánchez.

The 60-year-old Amazon founder responded to an X post that included information found in a recent The New York Post article, which cited a report by The daily mailwhich claimed that he and his fiancée, 55, will have a $600 million wedding in Aspen on December 28.

It caught their attention when Pershing Square CEO Bill Ackman reposted the Mail article with the caption: “This is not credible. Unless you are buying a house for each of your guests, you can’t spend that much money.”

Bezos then responded on Sunday: “Also, all of this is completely false: none of this is happening.”

“The old saying ‘don’t believe everything you read’ is truer today than ever,” the businessman continued.

Bezos added: “Now lies can go around the ENTIRE world before the truth can get its pants on. So be careful and don’t be gullible.”

Bezos then criticized publications that broke the wedding news based on rumors, writing, “It will be interesting to see if all the outlets that ‘covered’ and re-reported on this issue correct when it comes and goes and doesn’t happen.”

Bezos and Sánchez dated in January 2019 and got engaged in May 2023.

The billionaire and the journalist were said to be “over the moon, so happy and madly in love” after their engagement.

“Her engagement ring is beyond stunning. And huge! She keeps playing with it and looking at it,” the source said. People Magazine. “You can tell she loves it.”

Bezos shares four children with ex-wife MacKenzie Scott, while Sánchez shares son Nikko with ex Tony González and children Evan and Ella with ex-husband Patrick Whitesell.

However, the couple is still planning their upcoming nuptials, which Sánchez spoke fondly of in the Today show.

“I have to say, I have Pinterest,” he said. “I’m like any other bride, so I have a Pinterest board.”
