Meghan Markle didn’t want a mentor within the royal family upon arrival, says an expert.
The Duchess of Sussex, who was united with Sophie Wessex for her informal real training, resisted advice from the Duchess of Edinburgh.
Real expert Gyles Brandreth told Daily Mail: “The Queen wanted Meghan to succeed in marriage and her new role, and in fact did everything possible to encourage that.
“I think she suggested that Sophie Wessex, who was certainly one of the favorites, and had passed it because she had married the royal family and married Prince Edward, could help her, be a kind of mentor.”
