The federal government has announced a public holiday on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, to mark the birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
All banks and other institutions will remain closed on that day, according to the notification.
Meanwhile, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) also issued a notification confirming that banks will remain closed during the day in commemoration of Quaid-e-Azam and Christmas Day.
The central bank’s announcement states that all financial institutions, including commercial banks, will close on December 25 as per the government directive.
Pakistan will celebrate the birth anniversary of its founder, Quaid-e-Azam, with immense enthusiasm and respect. The day will begin with gun salutes in the federal and provincial capitals, followed by a dignified changing of the guard ceremony at the Quaid’s mausoleum in Karachi.
Official events and ceremonies will be held across the country to honor the Quaid’s life, political struggles and pivotal role in the creation of Pakistan.
Various social, political and non-governmental organisations, along with forums, have also organized special programs to mark the occasion.
