After missing the last five games, Caitlin Clark appears on the cusp to return to the court for Indiana’s fever.

Chief coach Stephanie White told journalists on Tuesday that she expects her star shipowner to be available against Golden State Valks on Wednesday night at home.

“If there are no setbacks after today, advance that is available,” White said.

Clark admitted that it has been difficult to see his team from the bank, so he enjoyed a complete practice on Monday with his teammates.

“Yes, I think it is good to go out again and enter the flow of playing with my teammates again,” he said. “It will be fun to go out again and feel things again.”

The question is what White will do in terms of Clark’s minutes if available Tuesday night.

Clark has noticed in the past that he does not like restrictions of minutes when he is healthy enough to play. However, he understands that White has to do his job to make sure the fever comes out with victory.

“I don’t know the type of minutes I am going to get and how it will look, but it only competes and plays hard,” Clark said. “This will be a team that moves constantly, so just take into account and act. Bring energy. It is difficult to sit for a few weeks, so I’m definitely excited to return.”

Clark added that he expects a “decent amount” of minutes if he plays, preferably in the “superiors of 20”.

“It depends on how I feel and how the game is going, and what the team needs too,” he said.

The fever has gone 3-2 in Clark’s last absence this season. Five games were lost earlier than the year with a left quads tension.

White argued how his team has been seen since Clark, whom the offensive usually runs when he is on the court, has been marginalized.

“First, our defensive energy and effort had been really good,” he said. “Our mobility, our level of activity, our ability to execute schemes, for the most part, had really been good. We have had a defensive versatility, and I offend offensively how the ball moves. Several players who get touches, are moving the ball on the side. We are having a high percentage appearance, and that has been part of only conversations as ‘C’ returns to the ground.”

In the nine games he has played this season, Clark is averaging 18.2 points, 8.9 assists and five rebounds per game.
