PTI challenge the references against MPA

LAHORE:

Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) plans to launch a national protest movement for the launch of its imprisoned founder Imran Khan.

When heading to a press conference on Tuesday, the opposition leader at the Punjab Assembly, Malik Ahmad Khan Bhachaha, said an announcement about the movement would be held later this week.

In response to media consultations, Bhachaha accused the government of using multiple failed tactics to dismantle party leadership.

He announced that PTI would challenge the references presented by the president of the Punjab Assembly, Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan, against 26 opposition legislators.

He accused the decision of the Muslim League of Pakistan-Nawaz (PML-N) to orchestrate the suspension of the members to appease Prime Minister Maryam Nawaz.

“We 107 MPA keep us firm. We will not bow to Maryam Nawaz,” he said. “On Thursday, we will convene a parallel session of our ‘real’ assembly outside the Punjab Assembly.
