Islamabad:
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif invited Turkish companies to increase their investment footprint in Pakistan and share their experience in structural reforms, economic growth and country development.
He made the comments at a meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, and Defense Minister Yasar Güler, who called him in Islamabad on Wednesday.
In an official launch, the prime minister emphasized the need for concerted efforts of both countries to improve bilateral trade, with the aim of achieving the mutually agreed target of $ 5 billion. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthen cooperation with Türkiye in key sectors, including trade, investment, technology and defense.
Sharif also emphasized long -standing fraternal ties between Pakistan and Turkiye, who are deeply rooted in shared history, culture and mutual respect. He expressed satisfaction with the positive trajectory of bilateral relations, highlighting that both nations have progressed significantly in recent years.

Remembering his interactions with the Turkish president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the prime minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s resolution to transform the relations of Pak-Turkiye into a strategic association in the near future.
Sharif welcomed the next meeting of the Joint Commission, co -presided by the Vice Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and the FM Turkish FM Fidan, expressing the hope that the meeting further accelerate bilateral relations and foster cooperation in several areas.
While reiterating the strong support that both countries continue to offer each other, the prime minister highlighted the need for closer coordination, particularly in the light of the regional and global situation of rapid evolution, with a special approach in the crises in progress in Gaza and Iran.
Finally, once again he expressed his deepest gratitude to the Turkish nation and leadership for his firm support for Pakistan, particularly during recent tensions with India.

Previously, during a joint press conference, Dar and Fidan reaffirmed their commitment to deepen bilateral cooperation in the key sectors, including defense, commerce, energy, culture, education and infrastructure, with both countries with the aim of promoting bilateral trade to $ 5 billion.
During the press conference, both officials expressed satisfaction with the continuous progress of 12 permanent joint committees under the High Level Strategic Cooperation Council (HLSCC). Giving stressed that, after the February session of the HLSCC, a joint commission would soon be established to monitor the progress of these committees.
