Islamabad:
The Law Association of the Superior Court of Lahore and the Lahore lawyers association have challenged the verdict in the case of seniority of the judges in the Supreme Court.
Both associations have presented separate appeals within the court against the decision of the Supreme Court. They have requested the Superior Court to declare the SC bench of five members, null and null. They also asked the court to put the ruling and the steps taken following the judgment in suspense.
Meanwhile, the judge of the Superior Court of Islamabad, Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani, has decided to challenge the age of the President of the Supreme Court of IHC, Sarfraz Dogar.
The sources said the legal consultation is underway to challenge the president’s decision to declare justice to give the biggest judge and judge and judge of IHC Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani as a senior judge of Puisne. It is pertinent to mention that a five -member SC bank had declared the transfer of Justice Dogar in constitutional IHC. The Constitutional Bank of the Supreme Court had referred the issue of seniority to the President.
Five IHC judges have already filed an intra-cat appeal against the ruling.
