RS4 Relay tarified probably for KE clients

Electricity consumers will obtain a relief of the Energy Rate of RS4.0349 by KWH in the bill for the month of July, according to the decision taken by the National Regulatory Authority of Electric Power (Nepra) on Wednesday on a request moved by the K-Electric (KE).

Ke’s request referred to the provisional adjustment of monthly fuel (FCA) charges for the month of April 2025, indicating a relief from RS4.0349 per KWh that will be transmitted to customers in the metropolis in their monthly bills for July 2025.

Fuel load settings are incurred by public services due to global variations in fuel prices used to generate electricity and changes in the generation combination. These costs are reflected in the clients’ invoices after the scrutiny and approval of Nepr.

Customers also benefit from the negative FCA in their invoices when world prices of fuel decrease. NEPRA determines the rates charged to the invoices of the clients and notified by the federal government.

According to the decision of Nepra, the FCA will be applicable to all categories of consumers, except life line consumers, protected national consumers, electric vehicle charges (EVC) and prepaid electricity consumers of all categories that opted for the prepaid rate.

NEPRA has provisionally retained an amount of RS8 billion with respect to the adjustments due to the partial loading curves, open cycle and degradation together with the start of the start of compliance with the decision of Nepera with respect to the generation rate for the control period of July 2023 onwards from the FCA for April 2025 to adjust against the pending statements of KE to guarantee that consumers are not built in the subsequent stage.
