The star marshal of the Kansas City Chiefs, Patrick Mahomes, would not be delighted if the NFL add a regular season 18 game to the calendar.
Mohomes, 29, said he wants to see the best players play in the biggest games, and the addition of another game could add more injuries.
“You’ve seen the amount of injuries that have accumulated at the end of the seasons, and you want to have the best players playing in the biggest games,” Mohamses told CNBC.

“If there were a way to reach 18 games, I am not, I am not a great admirer of that. But if there were a way, I think you have to add a few weeks of goodbye to give more time to the bodies of men.”
“I think you would have to find a way to have more goodbye, more extended time,” Mohamses said.
The Open Receiver of the New York Giants, Darius Slayton, did not agree with Mohamses, since he said that an additional week of goodbye would not be beneficial.

“I don’t know about two (goodbye weeks) because how to go after a goodbye is something difficult,” Slayton said in an appearance in “NFL Spotlight with Ari Meirov” in June.
The NFL data shows that there are more soft tissue injuries after a week of rest, according to Ari Meirov.

Part of the reason why the NFL would want to add a game 18 is because the Super Bowl would slide at the weekend of the president’s day and allow fans to have the next free day after the great game.
Only time will say if a potential calendar of 18 games will include multiple weeks of goodbye.
