NYT Strands Today (game #496) – The answers
The responses to today’s threads, game #496, are …
- GLOVE
- MISERY
- HELMET
- PITCHER
- BULLPEN
- Jambotron
- Spangram: Stadium
- My qualification: Scathing
- My score: 2 tracks
I managed to scrape today without any knowledge of baseball apart from Field of Dreams and Own League – It’s not that any of the movies had a Jumbotron, and needed two clues to complete the search.
One of the things that I think is more annoying to see the live sport on television are the shots of the crowd and, in particular, that moment when a fan is about to detect himself on the big screen when someone close to them hits them on the shoulder and the camera is cut before watching their reaction.
That said, if you ever take a child to a live game in a stadium, this will often be what the most excites them. Not world class athletes act in front of them or the emotion of being in a crowd, no, it will be the Mexican wave and the moment they almost appeared in the Jumbotron.
How did you do it today? Avise me in the comments below.
