We don’t even have a release date for Virgin RiveR Season 7 still, but Netflix has confirmed Virgin River Season 8 has already been green. The news comes a week after season 7 wrapped in shots, which officially makes it the longest -long transmission service original series.
Although we will not expect the episodes of season 8 to reach until 2026 as earlier, it is rumored that season 7 will be launched at some point in December 2025. That means we only have season 6 to speculate on where the program could go. The most recent season left us with five key cliffhangers to take us to future episodes, and it is unknown how many of these will come as far as season 8.
However, the first renovation news for the successful Netflix program now makes one of the season 6 cliffhangers much less likely to be true, and that is good news for anyone who has not been a fan of substitute history.
Mel and Jack could not become parents until season 8 of Virgin River
Season 6 finally saw Mel (Alexandra Brekenridge) and Jack (Martin Henderson) marry, and Mel then approached the client Marley (Rachel Drance) with the proposal to be a substitute mother for the couple. Marley’s future parents have retired from the adoption process at the last minute, and Marlely wants Mel and Jack to have the baby. We have not yet seen Mel responds, but the news of season 8 means that the plot could be less likely to stay.
Because? We have two reasons. First of all, Netflix loves to drag the stories of small villages that we are desperate to see, it has not even spent a year in Virgin River in the six complete seasons we have seen on the screen. Second, the original book series tells us that Mel and Jack ended up having two biological children, and making a family of four has been.
Put our pessimistic hats and we might think that Marley’s proposal turns out to be nothing, or in the worst case, a total scam. However, this could be the case. The dramatic turn in U occurred in the last moments of episode 10 of season 6, with absolutely nothing before in the series to indicate that there were problems. Marley’s too much protective couple during their clinical sessions with Mel, so this could easily be a moment of panic that is resolved later on the line.
In addition to this, we also want to see Mel win. He has fought with fertility problems since before arriving in the city, suffering another spontaneous abortion in season 5. Fans will want to see Mel and Jack having children in their own terms (biologically or not) more than anything, and Netflix would be incredibly cruel to not fulfill that.
As Virgin River Season 7 (we wait) quickly approaches, keep your eyes in the history of subrogation. My money is nothing at all, doing Virgin River Season 8 The crowned moment of our romantic protagonists finally began a family.
