On Saturday afternoon at Target Field was Byron Buxton Bobblehead Day, but Minnesota Twins fans received another Buxton gift.
The gardener of the stars hit the cycle against Pittsburgh’s pirates and did so in great fashion.
Buxton started with a single at the bottom of the first as the initial batter of the twins. During a second ticket of six races for Minnesota, he tripled.

Buxton then reached a double rules in the third inning, exerting the pressure for the rest of the game.
In the fifth, Buxton received his fourth success of the game, but it was a single. In the seventh, he went to the dish for the fifth, and possibly the end, time. He quickly fell into a 0-2 hole, but it didn’t matter.
Buxton swing in a 80 mph rupture ball that cut the lower part of the area, and achieved everything. The ball traveled to 427 feet to the dead center, leaving its bat to 106 mph, and the crowd exploded.
It was the first cycle hit in Target Field, which opened in 2010, and the first cycle of a twin since 2019, when Jorge Polanco achieved the feat.

The last twin to hit the cycle at home was Michael Cuddyer in 2009, which was the last season of the Metrodome.
Buxton is finally showing what he can do in the field because it has been healthy during most of the season. He has played in more than 100 games only twice since 2015, but has played in 77 of a possible 85 games this season.

He was appointed All-Star for the second time in his career, which he also did in 2022, when he crushed 28 homers in 92 games. But the injuries derailed the rest of their season. In 2021, he played in just 61 games, but accumulated a war of 4.9 when cutting .306/.358/.647 with 19 home runs and 32 ranges.
