The sweetener becomes sour to consumers


Islamabad:

The price of sugar in the country continues its ascending spiral, with retail rates to RS200 per kilogram in the main cities, the latest data published by the PBS showed on Saturday.

In its recently issued weekly price statistics, the PBS reported that the national average sugar price has increased to RS188.44 per kg, marking a weekly increase of RS3.52.

According to the statistics office, Sugar has now crossed the RS200/kg brand in Karachi, Islamabad and Rawalpindi, which makes it the most expensive sweetener in recent months and that more load domestic budgets already tenseed for inflation.
