Kim from North Korea reaffirms support for Russia in the Ukraine conflict: Report

North Korean leader Kim Jong told Russia’s main diplomat that his country was ready to “unconditionally support” all actions taken by Moscow to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, state media reported on Sunday, since the two countries held high -level strategic conversations.

Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov is on a three -day visit to North Korea, who has provided troops and weapons for the Russian War with Ukraine and promised more military support while Moscow tries to advance in the conflict.

Kim met with Lavrov in the eastern coastal city of Wonsan, where the foreign ministers of the two countries celebrated their second strategic dialogue, promising greater cooperation under an association treaty signed last year that includes a mutual defense pact.

Kim told Lavrov that the steps taken by the allies in response to the global geopolitics that radically evolve greatly to ensure peace and security worldwide, the state agency of North Korea Kcna reported.

“Kim Jong a reaffirmed that the RPDC (Democratic People’s Republic of Korea) is ready to support unconditionally and encourage all the measures taken by Russian leadership regarding the approach to the root cause of the Ukrainian crisis,” Kcna said.

Lavrov previously had conversations with his North Koean counterpart are Hui in Wonsan, and issued a joint statement promising support to safeguard national sovereignty and territorial integrity of the countries of others, Kcna said.

On Saturday, the Russian media reported that Lavrov described the ties of the two countries as “an invincible fighting brotherhood” in their meeting with Kim and thanked him the troops deployed in Russia.

The relations between Russia and North Korea have been dramatically deepened during the last two years of the war in Ukraine, which began in February 2022, with Pyongyang deploying more than 10,000 troops and weapons to Russia to support Moscow’s military campaign.

The Kim government has pledged to send some 6,000 military engineers and builders to help with the reconstruction work in the Kursk region of Russia.
