It is expected to rise for the next 15 days

It is expected that gasoline and diesel prices in Pakistan will increase up to RS6.60 per liter during the next 15 days, after a continuous upward trend in world prices of crude oil, according to industry sources.

At the time of reporting, the proposed walk includes an increase of RS6.60 per liter in gasoline and an increase of RS5.27 per liter in high -speed diesel (HSD).

On the contrary, the prices of kerosene and the light diesel can see reductions from RS3.74 and RS2.23 per liter, respectively.

The oil and gas regulatory authority (OGRA) has completed its work based on the latest trends in the global market, and tomorrow a final summary will be presented to the government.

The oil industry has already shared its calculations with the regulator.

The sources confirmed that the final decision on the price adjustments will be taken after the approval of the OGRA summary by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

The proposed changes would be valid for the next fortnight as part of the regular government price review mechanism for oil products.

On July 1, the Federal Government increased the prices of gasoline and diesel significantly during the first fortnight of the month, attributing the increase to the volatility of the global market amid the 12-day conflict in Iran-Israel.

Gasoline increased by RS8.36 to RS266.79 per liter, and high -speed diesel by RS10.39 to RS272.98, according to Obgra’s recommendation.

Pakistan, which imports around 85% of its oil needs, was directly affected by the Middle East crisis.
