If you have been waiting for anxiously the news of when the iPhone 17 series can be launched, a reliable filter has just list what the most likely dates for Apple’s new phones say to debut, and although nothing official has yet been announced, the suggested dates have a lot of sense.
In his last power in the newsletter ($/£), Bloomberg’s reporter Mark Gurman said Apple generally launches new iPhones in the week after Labor Day, and since Labor Day falls on September 1 of this year, it makes the week from September 8 the most likely candidate.
Developing that idea further, Gurman said Apple never program the events for Fridays, and has also avoided that autumn on September 11. That leaves on Monday, September 8, Tuesday, September 9 and Wednesday, September 10 as options.
In the last decade, Apple held five September events on Tuesdays and four on Wednesday, which makes the possibilities of September 9 and 10 strong for the iPhone event. Apple organized a Monday event in 2024, but that is an atypical case in its recent history.
What will we see in the event?
The iPhone 17 is expected to come with an important visual redesign in its rear, with a horizontal camera bar that covers the device lenses and sensors that are rumored by several important sources and leaks. We could also see new changes in the dynamic island, the fastest Magsafe load and a new family of chips A19.
There are also indications that Apple will add a new device to the iPhone alignment, called iPhone 17 Air. It is rumored that this is the thinnest iPhone in the range, and supposedly would replace the iPhone 16 Plus.
