Kasim Khan, son of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, has said that his father had chosen to remain in a “dark prison cell” instead of living a life of comfort abroad.
In a publication shared in X, Kasim reflected on the imprisoned Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf, the political trip and personal sacrifices. “Our father lived in Pakistan, far from us, during most of our lives. Not because he had to do it, but because he chose to face a corrupt regime,” he wrote.

Kasim said that although Imran Khan was not present as a father every day, Pakistan “had him as a leader”, highlighting his contributions to the country.
“He gave everything to his country: hospitals, universities and a movement for justice,” he said. He said that Imran Khan was offered the opportunity to live his days peacefully in Englad, spending time with the family.
“He has been offered the opportunity to spend the rest of his days in comfort: walking or playing the Crick with us in England. Instead, he chooses to remain locked in a dark prison cell,” Kasim said. He added that his father’s ongoing sacrifice is by Pakistan and that “his strength comes from his people.”
