Islamabad:
The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) was reduced on Tuesday on the Ministry of Planning on massive financial irregularities, non -traceable subsidies and apparent administrative dysfunction.
The meeting, chaired by Junaid Akbar Khan, examined the audit objections related to the financial performance of the Ministry.
In a shocking revelation, it arose that the supplementary subsidies issued by the Ministry of Planning exceeded the original subsidy in an amazing 134%. The revelation caused the outrage of the members. “These figures make no sense. Is there any planning in the planning division?” Naveed Qamar asked.
The member of the Riaz Fatyana committee regretted that every fourth person in the country was unemployed and, nevertheless, there was no consistent thought in human development. “Audit paras are a disaster. This ministry could also close,” he added.
Junaid Akbar questioned whether the Ministry had lost financial and administrative control. “And if this is the state of the Ministry of Planning, what should we expect from other ministries?” asked.
The Committee decided to initiate formal consultations in several audit objections, with reports that will be submitted within a month.
A tense moment arose when the member of the Sardar Sardar Sardar Committee Mastikhel demanded a total dissemination of benefits and salaries not only of politicians, but also superior officials of all key state institutions, including bureaucrats of grade 22, military generals and judges of the Supreme Court.
