Islamabad:
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday addressed the relevant authorities to present a policy framework for the provision of easy loans for farmers for medium and small -scale agricultural activities.
Priority should be given when providing modern agricultural facilities to farmers who have less than 12 acres, the prime minister said while presiding over a review meeting on agricultural development planning and agricultural financing.
The prime minister ordered to prepare and present a comprehensive plan at the end of this month to provide farmers with easy loans and introduce a system in the agricultural sector aligned with modern requirements.
On the occasion, detailed information was given on the ongoing agricultural reforms, the performance of the Limited Agricultural Development Bank and the loans granted to farmers.
Welfare projects
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif directed Thursday to guarantee third -party validation for transparency in public welfare projects, especially those related to clean water, electricity, communication and education.
He emphasized the importance of maintaining high standards in completed and almost complete projects through independent validation.
By chairing a review meeting on the development projects of the current fiscal year, the prime minister instructed that delayed projects should be completed as soon as possible.
He said that the construction of high quality educational centers such as Danish schools in Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and all provinces was a government priority.
The Prime Minister added that educational institutions were a vital part of the current development plans of the fiscal year, aimed at providing international education and training to children of economically disadvantaged environments, ensuring equal development opportunities.
He stressed that water deposits were crucial for national integrity, and several projects were currently being built for this purpose.
He pointed out that the establishment of technological parks in Karachi and Islamabad will make Pakistan a significant economic center for information technology both in the region and worldwide.
